Four days ago on India’s Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a statement on Balochistan during his speech. As a result, protestors staged anti-India rallies across Balochistan under the control of Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri. The minister also blamed India of fueling terrorism in the unstable region. In addition, he also stated that the protest indicates that the people of Balochistan did not like whatever Indian PM said about the province.

Different political organizations and civil society activists staged anti-India rallies on Thursday. The protest took place various cities of Balochistan inclduing Dera Bugti, Lasbela, Naushki, Chaghai, Khuzdar, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Kohlu, Dera Allahyar, Dadhar, Sibi and Bolan.

The protestors marched through roads and streets to record their protest while condemning India’s criticism against Pakistan. Moreover, the Pakistan Workers Party workers also carried out procession and marched through different roads. They ended up their protest in front of the Quetta Press Club.

Furthermore, the activists also expressed their anger by setting India’s flag on fire. They also chanted anti-India slogans especially against Narendra Modi. The protestors demanded the federal government to take up this matter on international forum.

Sanaullah Zehri also blasted Brahamdagh Bugti

Chief Minister of Balochistan also lambasted the founder and leader of banned Baloch Republican Party (BRP), Brahamdagh Bugti. The leader thanked Narendra Modi for taking up the issue of Balochistan.

While addressing the media, Sanaullah Zehri stated:

“By saluting Modi, Brahamdagh has proved that he is a traitor. He saluted the man who is responsible for bloodshed in Balochistan. He should have thought about the friends of his grandfather Nawab Akbar Bugti who had sacrificed for this country”

Chief Minister further added:

“Thousands of people resort to protest in Kashmir, but here, Brahamdagh or anyone who supports Indian intervention, cannot manage to assemble 50 people”

RAW is involved in promoting terrorism in Balochistan

Even though Sanaullah had earlier pointed out India’s continued support to terrorists in Balochistan but nobody paid any attention. He said that home minister had publicly announced the detention of 4 terrorists who admitted that they were funded by Indian government.

While addressing the media, the chief minister proclaimed:

“I have the evidence of RAW’s involvement in Balochistan, and whatever I say is based on evidence we have. RAW is providing training to the terrorists in Balochistan. On the other hand, Brahamdagh wants to make us a slave of India which is not possible”

Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti also made it clear to Narendra Modi to think twice before they speak about Pakistan. While addressing a press conference at Quetta Law College, he agreed with Sanaullah’s statement regarding India’s involvement in Balochistan.

The home minister also made a comment on the politics of Brahamdagh. He said that the banned leader is restricted to Facebook and he did not have any support in the region. He stated:

“Brahamdagh has lost support even in Dera Bugti as the people took to the streets to condemn the statement of Modi. This is not Bangladesh. This is Balochistan where the people are patriotic and will go after every terrorist who wants to create problems”
