There is sufficient evidence to prove that Pakistan owes its very existence to Divine Commandment. That 15 million Muslims from oppressed Muslim societies in India united together on one platform raising one demand (attaining Pakistan) is proof enough that Allah wants to employ Pakistan for a special undertaking to let Deen (Islam’s politico-socio-economic and judicial system) conquer above all else, as He mentions in The Qur’an:

“It is He Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions. And Allah is enough for a Witness.” (Surah Fatah, Verse 28).

The troubles in which the Deen of Islam descended upon an unlettered (Ummi) Prophet (PBUH) in an Age of Ignorance, and the way in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH) preached the faith and implemented it, that in itself is a testament to Islam’s all-round truth and veracity; this is because after the advent of Islam, not a single corner of this world was left without being influenced by it.

The word “deen” (in the Qur’anic verse above) has been used as singular since the Deen from Adam and Nuh’s period up till Musa, Eesa and Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Them All) was one and the same, Islam; it is the real light, even if followers of other religious systems call it by different names (Ref: Abdullah Yusuf Ali). What I am trying to say is that whichever system or beliefs people have adopted for spiritual nourishment or rituals, they should impose Islam on it.

Pakistan has been established on the very same principles on which the State of Madina was established. Therefore, it is my conviction that Pakistan will sooner or later achieve its aim and I include Eastern Pakistan (presently Bangladesh) in it too because they did not back down from Islamic principles. Geographical separation certainly does not equal ideological disconnection, perhaps they (Bengalis) are better off towards this journey.

There is no doubt on the fact that we have suffered tremendous defeat and humiliation time and again because of our character and wrongdoings; by and large this has happened in every age, however this does not affect the journey in any way. Even during the lifetime of the Prophet (PBUH), from temporary problems caused by ordinary shortcomings and weaknesses in Uhud and Hudaibiyah to the Prophet’s death (PBUH), during the Caliphate, refusal to give Zakat, rise of false prophets, disputes amongst the Prophet’s Companions, political interference, in fact even the troubles arising from battles and wars, were they not enough?

But the eye pierced through the Heavens and saw that despite all the occurrence of these incidents, the True Deen reigned supreme over almost half the world, spanning three continents, for 1300 years (as predicted).

After that golden age ended, what was our status in Hind (India)? Allah Almighty blessed us with two of his fine men and obedient slaves (Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah) who held beacons of light to guide us towards the birth of Pakistan, which we reached after wading through a sea of blood.

A hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) says:

“Scholars are the inheritors of Prophets (in my Ummah), and the Prophets haven’t made anyone their inheritors in dirhams and dinars; instead, they leave behind only the inheritance of knowledge. Whoever acquired this knowledge, acquired a large part of blessings” (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Ibne Majah referenced by Najam-al-Fataawa, pg 239). The Prophet (PBUH) further narrated the blessedness of a scholar in these words, “A scholar enjoys blessedness over an obedient worshipper the same way in which I stand blessed over any inferior man among you” (Ref: Mishkaat, hadith number 200). To further emphasize the importance of knowledge over worship, Allah says in The Qur’an “Only those fear Allah who are learned (Men of Knowledge)” (Ref: Surah Faatir, Verse 28). Obviously, this does not refer to ‘scholars’ who read so-and-so book and attain a so-and-so certification. In fact, they are privileged men who fear Allah and who are on the path ordained by Him. Allah Almighty gave us exemplary leaders (like Iqbal and Jinnah) according to the criteria laid out in the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH).

Despite our currently sorry state of affairs, Pakistan and the Islamic world is proving to be an eyesore for the forces of falsehood unlike any other country.

Even though forces of falsehood and infidelity have a plethora of arms, ammunition and what not, the mere thought of Muslims, their movements or just one or two of them frightens them so much that they become sleepless for several days. Allah Almighty says:

“(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes. This is because they defied and disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever defies and disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.” (Surah Anfal, Verses 12-13)

Whereas it is true that the believers are undergoing much difficulties because of their own wrongdoings; by Allah’s Mercy when they perfect their faith, they will become as pure and clean as balls of cotton. Their hearts will light up and they will ultimately emerge victorious.
