Pakistan has many beautiful valleys to boast, and Swat stands out as one of the brightest jewel in its crown. Swat district is located in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is characterized by fast rivers, faster winds and serene-looking skies. It was christened “the Switzerland of the East” by Queen Elizabeth II, and that is as apt a description as any.
Homes are nestled deep in the valley.
Dusk is a sight to behold.
The clouds leisurely make their rounds of the sky.
And the winds bend the trees to their will.
Fields upon fields characterize the valley.
Swat is one of the greenest valleys.
Birds take flight, unperturbed by man or beast.
Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation has family huts and cabins in the area.
And one is reminded to always stop to smell the roses.
I visited swat in 1990. The most spectacular is Miandam. Utrot n ushu glaciers areas are also very beautiful.
